With a reputable reputation in the supplement industry, BlueBonnet Nutrition has created a product that is a competent contestant for our top position in bone health supplements. We were excited to investigate their choice of ingredients to create a top bone strengthening supplement and compare it to others. Is this product as effective as it claims? After careful evaluation and inspection of the ingredients in BlueBonnet Osteo-Bone Formula, we decided that this product did come up slightly short when compared to our first product.
This was one of the few products we found that also offers 1000 mg of Calcium per daily serving, as well as a generous amount of Vitamin D3 and Magnesium. We were impressed that BlueBonnet included 2 different types of Calcium in such a generous dose. Calcium is vital for bone renewal and for boosting Calcium levels in the body, however we were surprised and somewhat disappointed that there is no Vitamin K included in this formula. Vitamin K is vital for optimizing Calcium absorption and directing it to the bones where it is needed. Without this ingredient, the Calcium does not absorb properly and may have the tendency to accumulate in the arteries instead where it can eventually cause damage.
While we were impressed with the addition of Boron and Soy Isoflavones, we would have liked to see bone-health boosting additions such as Cissus quadrangularis and a bioavailability enhancer such as BioPerine®.
This product is produced in a GMP certified facility and does not contain any additives or artificial ingredients. While we did find a number of positive comments online, the manufacturer does not offer a satisfaction guarantee.
Is BlueBonnet Osteo-Bone Formula Effective?
We usually use two factors to determine the efficacy of a product, and those are whether there is a satisfaction guarantee offered by the manufacturer, and the reviews from actual customers online. Unfortunately there is no guarantee offered for this product at all, which is a pity since it would be a notable feature if a customer had a grace period to try out the product without the financial commitment.
The second indicator we looked at was the reviews from actual customers. We didn’t find many reviews online, however the majority of the few reviews we did find were positive and claimed that this product was effective. We believe that 1000 mg of 2 types of Calcium should significantly boost Calcium levels, although we’re not sure quite how effective the Calcium is without Vitamin K2.
Is BlueBonnet Osteo-Bone Formula Safe?
We did not find any ingredients in this product that would cause it to be unsafe, such as un-certified stimulant ingredients or questionable herbs. In general, BlueBonnet Osteo-Bone Formula is deemed to be a safe herbal supplement if taken according to the proper recommendations. There are no reported side effects and it can be taken with most medications.
As a general rule, it is always recommended to speak to your doctor before taking any new supplement, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, have any health conditions or are taking other medications.
Summary
There are ingredients in this formula that we found to be in impressive amounts, such as 1000 mg of two types of Calcium (Carbonate and Citrate) as well as 400 mg Magnesium and 40 mg Soy Isoflavones. These ingredients are clinically researched to be effective in boosting Calcium levels and improving bone mass density. However, there seem to be basic ingredients missing from this formula such as Vitamin K2, Vanadium, Cissus quadrangularis and BioPerine®. These are critical for helping improve bioavailability, effectively utilizing the absorbed Calcium and guiding it to the bones.
We would have liked to see a satisfaction guarantee even though the few reviews we found online are positive, it would have given an extra element of confidence. We should also point out that the daily serving requires you to take 4 capsules, which seems like a lot to take at once. Overall we were impressed with the amounts of the ingredients this manufacturer chose, however we feel that they were missing out on key ingredients that would have just pushed this above its competitors.
